Join us as a Fáilte Isteach volunteer tutor and help others improve their spoken English in a friendly, informal setting.

About Fáilte Isteach

Fáilte Isteach is a conversational English Programme that brings communities together through language. Classes are small, welcoming, and focused on conversation rather than formal teaching. They help new community members gain confidence in speaking English and feel more connected to life in South Kerry.

Why Volunteer?

As a volunteer, you will:
  • Meet new people and connect with others in your community
  • Experience the diversity of South Kerry’s growing population
  • Access ongoing training and support (if interested)
  • Receive a reference to support future work or study opportunities
Volunteering is a rewarding way to get involved, share your time, and help create a more inclusive community — whether you’re an individual or part of a local group.

What’s Involved

  • Support or lead a conversation-focused English class
  • Commitment: 2 hours per week for a 6-week term
  • Welcome and encourage participants in a relaxed, friendly environment
  • Use the lesson materials provided — no teaching experience is needed
  • Share ideas and feedback to help improve the classes
All volunteers receive full training, support, and access to Fáilte Isteach teaching resources.
