Meet The Staff

Noel Spillane is the CEO of South Kerry Development Partnership. Noel joined SKDP in June 2001 as the Financial Administrator and became CEO in October 2011. A Milltown native coming from a farming background, Noel holds an honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Limerick and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Noel is passionate about enabling and supporting community led development and during his tenure with SKDP has successfully led the development and delivery of numerous State & EU funded rural development and social inclusion programmes and initiatives. Noel’s experience encompasses financial & budget management, audit & compliance, strategic planning and programme design, development & implementation.

Marie Garvey is the Human Resources Manager at South Kerry Development Partnership CLG, where she has led the HR function since 2023. With a background as an HR Consultant, Personnel Manager, PA and Administrator, she brings extensive experience across people management, employee engagement and workplace wellbeing. She holds a BA (Honours) in Management Practice and Diplomas in Human Resource Management and Training & Education. Passionate about supporting people to reach their potential, Marie is dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive and wellbeing-focused culture at SKDP.

Majella Dillon is the Financial Administrator with SKDP CLG and is based in Cahersiveen. She has a degree in Business Studies and German and completed her ACCA exams in 2006. Her career began in the financial services industry and originally joined SKDP as an Accounts Assistant in 2001. She has developed a strong foundation in accounting and financial operations and progressed to the position of Financial Administrator in 2012. She enjoys the variety of work with SKDP CLG and is dedicated to the financial management and administrative operations of the company.

Joseph McCrohan manages several key community initiatives including the Rural Social Scheme, TÚS, Kerry Social Farming, Workability, the School Leavers Programme, and South Kerry Foodlink. He joined SKDP in 1998, initially working with low-income farm families, and is passionate about bottom-up rural development and social inclusion that empowers people sustainably. He now leads staff supporting farm families, rural and urban communities, the unemployed, and people with disabilities. A native of Reenard, Cahersiveen, Joseph comes from a farming and tourism background. He holds a first-class honours degree in Rural Development from UCC, a Certificate in Agricultural Science from WIT, and the Green Cert. He is also a part-time beef farmer and active GAA and community volunteer.

Maureen O’Donnell is the LEADER Programme Co-ordinator with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), based in Cahersiveen. A native of Cahersiveen with a farming background, Maureen holds a first-class honours degree in Rural Development from University College Cork (UCC). Since joining SKDP in 1999, she has been deeply committed to rural and community development. She is particularly passionate about supporting rural enterprises, empowering local communities, and bringing community-led projects to fruition. Maureen has been actively involved in the delivery of various LEADER programmes since 2001, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to her role.

Gretel O’Sullivan is the Network Manager for South Kerry Skillnet based in Killorglin, Co. Kerry. Gretel joined South Kerry Skillnet in January 2023. Prior to this her background was mainly in the tourism and hospitality sector in group sales, contract negotiation, and business relationship roles. Gretel has been actively involved in the delivery of South Kerry Skillnet’s training portfolio since she joined the company and enjoys meeting local enterprises, sole traders and self-employed to support their upskilling needs. She engages with several key stakeholders from employers to trainers and third level institutions to ensure that industry-led, accessible training programmes are delivered to the Southwest region.

Mary Murray has worked with SKDP since 2016 and works as a Case Officer and Team Leader with the Local Area Employment Service. With a background in Education and Business Mary is ideally placed to work with individuals who have experienced long-term unemployment, helping them rebuild confidence, identify their strengths and take positive steps towards sustainable employment. Mary is passionate about guiding and motivating both her team and the people they support, fostering an environment where collaboration, resilience and growth are at the heart of what we do. Her leadership style is supportive yet goal-focused, ensuring that each person is empowered to reach their potential.

Patricia Deane is Project Manager for the ACRES Kerry/West Cork Co-operation Project. Trisha comes from a small family farm in Mid-Kerry and has been working closely with farmers since commencing employment with South Kerry Development Partnership. Trisha feels strongly that farmers need as much support as possible to continue farming and that more needs to be done to encourage young people to become actively involved in farming. Previously Trisha worked as a Rural Development Officer and then as Rural Recreation Officer implementing the Walks Scheme before managing the award winning MacGillycuddy Reeks European Innovation Partnership (EIP) Project with SKDP.

Jurga Butkute is the SICAP English Supports Co-ordinator with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), based in Killorglin. Originally from Lithuania, Jurga overcame language barriers herself to earn a Diploma in Social Enterprises and Community Activation Programmes from Cork UCC. Knowing first-hand the importance of learning English to communicate and become part of the community, she is deeply passionate about helping others do the same. She coordinates SKDP’s English language classes across South Kerry and leads number of Fáilte Isteach conversational groups, where local volunteers support new community members. Jurga also volunteers locally and runs craft activities, valuing connection, inclusion, and giving back.

Concubhair Lyne is the MacGillycuddy Reeks Development Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), based in Killorglin. Concubhair is working with the landowners in the Reeks MAP area and MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountain Access Forum. Concubhair is from a farming background and a native of Valentia Island. He has worked with S.K.D.P since 2010 during this time he has worked as a Supervisor on the TUS work placement programme, Rural Social Scheme and as Rural Recreation Officer for 5 years. Concubhair has a degree in Community Development and Social Enterprise from UCC. He fully understands the importance of Recreation and Agriculture working in tandem, particularly in a region like South Kerry, where both play a crucial role in the local economy and way of life.

Julie Thorne is a SICAP Community Development Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), based in Killarney. Originally from Dundalk and now living in Kerry, Julie holds a Master’s in Applied Social Research from Trinity College Dublin and a First-Class Honours Certificate in Project and Community Development from UCD. With over 20 years’ experience in both Ireland and the UK, Julie is passionate about social inclusion, empowering communities, and supporting marginalised groups. She has worked across local authorities, family resource centres, a disability organisation and local development organisations. Since 2022, she has played a key role in delivering SICAP and supporting community-led initiatives in South Kerry.

Carol Naughton is the SICAP Education Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), based in Killorglin. Originally from Co. Roscommon, she holds a degree in Science from UCG and a Certificate in Mental Health in the Community from UCC. In her role, Carol supports individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds stay in education or assists them in returning to it. She also promotes individual and community wellbeing in South Kerry by developing and delivering programs that enhance confidence, mental health, adult literacy and social inclusion, particularly for people from disadvantaged groups. She enjoys collaborating with other local agencies to provide supports which build community capacity and address social exclusion.

Joanne Griffin is a SICAP Enterprise Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), based in Killorglin and also covers the Killarney area. A native of Milltown, Joanne holds a first-class honours degree in Commerce (BComm) from UCC and is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA). Since joining SKDP in 2016, Joanne has always been deeply committed to promoting economic development in the South Kerry Region by fostering the development of new and existing enterprises and by helping individuals to access employment in the area.

Clare O’Shea is the SICAP Enterprise Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), supporting enterprise in Cahersiveen and Kenmare and promoting social enterprise across South Kerry. She joined SKDP in 2021 and brings strong experience in community and enterprise development. Clare holds an honours degree in European Studies (UCC) and a Diploma in Financial Management (ACCA). Passionate about helping people reach their employment and self-employment goals, she provides mentoring and guidance to help businesses start, grow, and thrive.

Rose Harvey is a member of the SICAP team. Rose provides administrative support to the SICAP officers, dealing with elements such as reporting requirements for the programme and ensuring payments and files have the correct documentation. Rose has a Degree in Sociology and has over 25 years of experience working on Social Inclusion programmes in South Kerry. In addition to her present role in SKDP Rose has also worked on the FACE Project (Families and Computers in Education), on the BTWEA programme and the EU JADE programme (Jobs and Development & Environment).

Seán de Builtéar is the EU Projects Manager with SKDP as well as working as a LEADER officer on the current programme and dealing with press related matters. He is an FCCA and holds an MBA, with experience of working in the private sector before moving to SKDP in 2009. Seán has worked on a range of EU Transnational Projects in areas including tourism development, community energy and environmental initiatives. He has a passion for maintaining and enhancing rural communities and the natural environment. He brings a broad range of experiences and skills to his roles within SKDP including supporting communities & businesses through the LEADER process.

Michelle O’Sullivan is the LEADER Programme Development Officer for the Killarney and Kenmare area. Based in the Killorglin office, Michelle joined SKDP in 2024. With a background in sustainability, Michelle has worked for several not-for-profit organisations throughout her career. She holds a Masters Degree in Sustainable Development from Dublin Technological University and a Bachelor Degree in Business Studies from the University of Limerick. Michelle is passionate about working within the community to support environmental, social and economic projects that enhance rural resilience and support the community to thrive. Michelle is a native of South Kerry and brings her previous experience in project management, programme delivery and facilitation to her role with South Kerry Development Partnership.

Brendan Kirwan is the Biosphere Officer for the Kerry UNESCO Biosphere reserve. Brendan is an ecologist with 13 years industry experience. Brendan has spent almost ten years in ecological consultancy where he worked on a wide array of conservation and development led projects and plans. Since his inception into the Biosphere almost three years ago, Brendan has worked on important plans and initiatives in the reserve including the development of a Bird ID Swatch, informative wildlife themed booklets, colouring books, and information booklets and commissioning artists to create various forms of art.

Aleksandra Piotrowska is a Case Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership, working within the Local Area Employment Service. Her expertise is supporting long-term unemployed individuals through tailored mentoring, coaching, and access to employment schemes and courses. With over a decade of experience across hospitality, retail, coaching, and the public sector, Aleksandra brings a practical and empathetic approach to her work. Passionate about continuous learning and emerging technologies, she is particularly interested in the potential of digital innovation to enhance services and empower individuals. Aleksandra enjoys helping people build confidence, develop new skills, and take meaningful steps toward employment. For Aleksandra, working with SKDP is about making a real difference—supporting others while growing personally and professionally.

Máire Bríd McCrohan is a Case Officer with Kerry Local Area Employment Service (KLAES). She comes from a farming background in west Kerry, and holds a Law degree from Trinity College, Dublin. Máire Bríd joined SKDP in 2017. She is profoundly dedicated to motivating and helping her clients to meet their full potential, and to achieve their employment goals.

Patrick McCarthy is a Case Officer with the Local Area Employment Service (LAES) at South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP), based in Killarney and Kenmare. A Killarney native with a business background, he holds a BA in Social Enterprise & Community Development from UCC. Since joining SKDP in 2012, Patrick has supported long-term unemployed clients facing barriers to employment, offering tailored career guidance, training, education, and job placement support to help them re-enter the workforce.

Alice Hand is a Data Officer for the ACRES Kerry/West Cork based in Killorglin. She holds a BSc in Wildlife Biology and a Research Master’s in Bioeconomy and Geographical Information Systems from MTU. After her degree she gained experience in GIS mapping and sustainable agriculture research. Working as a postgraduate researcher for MTU, she has worked on projects focusing on women’s roles in farming and projects focusing on small-scale bio-based solutions across Europe. She has a keen interest in sustainability in farming and enjoys being able to use her GIS skills to help the ACRES team.

Caoimhe Mulcahy is an Agri-Environmental Officer for the ACRES Kerry/West Cork CP based in Kenmare. Originally from Kildare, she holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Botany and a Master’s Degree in Biodiversity and Conservation from Trinity College Dublin. From these courses she has gained experience in vegetation surveys, game transects and rare species monitoring. She has taken part in field work across a variety of habitats both in Ireland and abroad. Her Master’s thesis focused on the plant-pollinator conflict associated with the carnivorous pitcher plant species Sarracenia purpurea.

DJ Moran is a Rural Men’s Outreach Officer & Community Development Officer with the South Kerry Development Partnership. DJ has been working with SKDP since 2020 and covers all the South Kerry area from Lauragh to Annascaul. DJ comes from a farming background in Cahersiveen, and is very committed to working with retired farmers living in rural areas. DJ is actively involved with numerous Community groups in South Kerry & supports these groups through the SICAP programme.

Catherine Heduan holds a Master’s Degree in Animal Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology from Swansea University. Catherine grew up on a beef suckler and sheep farm in Westmeath and has experience in balancing agricultural output with biodiversity promotion. She has a keen interest in improving the relationship between wildlife and agriculture and has worked on projects studying the links between vectors of veterinary diseases and wildlife. In her free time, Catherine volunteers in wildlife rehabilitation and enjoys wildlife photography.

Dáire O’Hare Doherty is an Agri-Environmental Officer and graduated as a Field Ecologist from Munster Technological University. Since obtaining his BSc, he has worked within the Environmental Consultancy and Agri-Environmental sectors. Dáire has experience conducting baseline habitat assessments, freshwater drainage mapping, and protected species surveys. In 2022 he graduated with an MSc in Climate Change from Maynooth University. From this, he has experience in preparing adaptation and mitigation measures for the changing Irish climate, oceanographic survey techniques and paleoecological data analysis. Dáire has previously volunteered with Killarney National Park on a number of occasions, primarily focusing on the removal of invasive species such as Rhododendron ponticum from high priority habitats.

Luke Myers is an Agri-Environment Officer with ACRES Kerry – West Cork, Killorglin Office. He holds a BSc in Wildlife Biology with the Institute of Technology Tralee, along with a number of certificates related to herbicide application and invasive species treatment. Luke is passionate about Invasive species as well as their impacts on farming, human health and the environment. This passion was drawn-out of his previous roles both with and outside of SKDP, managing an EIP, treating invasive species and training members of the public to identify and treat invasive species appropriately.

Michael Morrissey is an Agri-Environmental Officer based in Camp. He has a Master’s Degree in Ecological Assessment and an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science. He has worked as an agricultural consultant for over a decade, administering a range of Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) Agri-Environmental Schemes. His previous work involved the Duhallow Blue Dot and Owentaraglin River EIP Projects. His primary skillsets include plant identification, habitat assessment, habitat management plans, as well as selecting and verifying supporting actions to improve the ecological status of sensitive habitats in the Natura 2000 network.

Stephen Mulkearn is an Agri-Environmental Officer based in Bantry. From 2016 to 2020, Stephen returned to full-time education gaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Biology from UCD where for his thesis he worked with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council assessing wildflower species diversity on All-Ireland Pollinator Plan sites. In 2022, he gained a MSc in Biodiversity & Conservation from Trinity and has conducted fieldwork in the Burren, South Africa, southern Spain and Costa Rica. He has worked in journalism & media as well as in community development and in ecological consultancy and is interested in the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems and the conservation of protected habitats.

Stephen O’Shea is an Agri-Environmental Officer for ACRES Kerry/West Cork Cooperation Project based in Killorglin. This is a multifaceted role some of which involves the assessment of upland habitats, planning of landscape actions that will lead to habitat improvement, training of farmers and agricultural advisors. Stephen holds a degree in Wildlife Biology from the Munster Technological University and a degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin. Stephen has worked in the agri-environmental sector since 2015. Prior to joining the ACRES team in 2022 he worked as a Catchment Officer for the very successful species-specific Pearl Mussel Conservation Project.

Tiernan O’Shea is an Agri-Environmental Officer for the ACRES Kerry/West Cork CP based in Kenmare. He graduated from UCC with a degree in Environmental Science. Tiernan is from a sheep farming background within the Black Valley region of Kerry. He is interested in all agricultural enterprises, the need to enhance the ecological and environmental value of agricultural lands, the continuation of upland farming and is keenly aware of the constraints facing farming communities within these areas.

Mary Toomey is the Senior Ecologist for the ACRES Kerry/West Cork Co-operation Project. She has a BA in Science from Trinity College Dublin, an MSc in Wildlife Management and Conservation from Reading University. Prior to ACRES, Mary worked as the MacGillycuddy Reeks EIP Project Ecologist carrying out results-based habitat assessments and working with farmers to develop plans to improve the ecological condition of their land. Previously, Mary worked for Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council where she was responsible for implementation of the Council’s biodiversity plan. Mary also has a number of years’ experience working as an ecological consultant and working for NGOs in the UK and Ireland.

Mike Cahillane is the Rural Recreation Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership CLG. In this role, he supports the development, management, and promotion of walking trails and outdoor amenities across South Kerry. Mike works closely with landowners, community groups, and public bodies to maintain safe, sustainable access to the region’s natural landscapes. He coordinates trail maintenance, signage, and conservation projects that enhance outdoor recreation while protecting local heritage and biodiversity. Committed to community-led development, Mike promotes sustainable tourism and rural enterprise, helping strengthen South Kerry’s connection between people, place, and the environment.

Iryna Puzdria is a Ukrainian Intercultural Support Worker and a member of the SICAP Team, based in Killorglin. Iryna proudly started her role in 2022. Her main responsibility is to support and facilitate the integration of new arrivals into the social, community, and economic life of South Kerry. She is from Ukraine and holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Protection Engineering. Iryna is passionate about her work because it allows her to help others build new beginnings and create bridges between migrant and Irish communities. She believes that empathy, understanding, and teamwork can make every newcomer feel at home.

Tetyana Olkhovska, an immigrant from Ukraine who has been living in Ireland since 2003, has been an integral part of the South Kerry Development Partnership CLG (SKDP) since 2022 as a SICAP/Ukrainian Intercultural Support Worker. In her role at SKDP, Tetyana focuses on supporting the integration of migrants into the local community, leveraging her personal experience to understand their challenges. She organises inclusive events that promote cultural interaction in rural areas of South Kerry. With her background in accounting, she effectively manages projects and resources, making her contributions essential to fostering a cohesive and vibrant community at SKDP.

Michelle was appointed as the Community Link Worker for County Kerry in June 2025. Her role involves working with local communities across the county to develop a positive community-led response to the demographic changes experienced across Kerry in recent years. Michelle graduated from University of Ulster with a M(Phil) in Social Policy, and has over 25 years’ experience working in the field of diversity and inclusion across the academic, community and public sectors.

Evelyn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy and worked within the NHS and Jigsaw Kerry helping people with learning disabilities, mental health concerns, stroke and neurological rehabilitation. This experience supports her role as a School Leaver Programme Facilitator.

Emily Moran is a Social Farming Facilitator with South Kerry Development Partnership. Emily started with the Partnership in 2021 and works to promote social inclusion through meaningful engagement in farming activities. She holds an MSc Agricultural Extension and Innovation Master of Agricultural Science from University College Dublin, where she developed a strong foundation in rural development, knowledge transfer, and participatory approaches to agricultural education. As a sheep farmer based in Cahirciveen, Emily combines an academic insight with a hands-on experience. Her farming background brings depth and authenticity to her facilitation work. Emily also holds a BA Honours degree from DCU and completed her Green Cert in Agriculture with the Salesian Agricultural College in Pallaskenry.

John Lynch is a facilitator for Kerry Social Farming with (SKDP)and is based in Killarney. Raised on a traditional mixed farm in the Clydagh Valley Glenflesk; John has a keen interest in culture and heritage and is passionate about the sustainability of family farm holdings within local communities. John has a lifetime of experience interacting with farmers in most sectors of agriculture. Currently he sources new host farmers and helps set up and maintain the support and collaboration between the host farm the participant and the supporting services. John has a diploma on Rural Development from University College Galway UCG.

Donal joined SKDP in January 2019 as a Supervisor and is based in Kenmare, with responsibilities extending across the areas of Kenmare, Kilgarvan, Bonane and Lauragh. He has a strong professional interest in the Kerry/Beara Way walking routes and is committed to supporting the preservation and accessibility of these important local amenities. Donal’s work is particularly guided by his dedication to assisting older people and those who are most marginalised within the community. He takes great pride in contributing to Care of the Elderly supports recognising the importance of maintaining dignity, connection, and quality of life for vulnerable individuals.

Irene has always been passionate about working with people and values the sense of community found in rural life. Growing up on a farm in Germany she has an appreciation for hard work, social connection, and independence. During her university studies, she completed a work placement outside Belfast, which sparked her interest in living abroad. While travelling, she discovered and fell in love with Kerry, where she has since made her home. In her role with the School Leaver Programme, she supports adults with different abilities to develop life skills and independence within their own communities. She values the trust and encouragement shown by the organisation in supporting her professional initiative and autonomy.

Chloe Galvin is a Facilitator with the School Leaver Programme in Killorglin. Since graduating from Munster Technological University (Kerry) with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Social Care Degree, Chloe has worked with adults with intellectual disabilities for almost 5 years supporting people with disabilities in various settings such as community programmes, adult day services and residential services. Chloe has a strong passion to ensure that her work on the School Leaver Programme is driven by person centredness and enjoys working alongside participants of the programme to support and advocate for participants to achieve their personal goals in life, supporting them in any way she can.

Sean recently joined SKDP at the end of July 2026. He has a BA in Social Care and has worked within Social Care since 2015. In that time, Sean has worked mainly in the community in outreach services across South Kerry, gaining a lot of experience. He has mainly worked one to one supporting people with additional needs, advocating for them to best achieve their goals and to support them the best he can.

Ashling McKenna is a compassionate Social Care professional facilitating the SKDP School Leaver Programme, supporting young people with disabilities as they transition into education, training, or employment. She holds a Bachelor of Honours in Social Care and has extensive experience working with vulnerable individuals, including those facing disability, addiction, mental health struggles, or homelessness. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those living with disabilities, Ashling is committed to advocating for their rights and promoting inclusion through a person-centred, community-led approach

Ciarán completed his Leaving Certificate at Coláiste na Sceilge in 2002 before qualifying as a carpenter and joiner in 2006. He joined the Rural Social Scheme (RSS) in 2017 as a participant working in Skellig Rangers GAA grounds and Portmagee National School. After completing his Farming Green Cert in 2019, he took over the family farm in 2020. Appointed RSS Supervisor in October 2025, he now oversees work schedules, supports participants, recruits new farmers, and works closely with local community groups, GAA clubs, and schools. He is committed to encouraging farmers to participate in the Rural Social Scheme and continue the valuable work of the RSS within the wider community in South Kerry.

Kevin O’Sullivan is an Agri Environmental Officer working for ACRES Kerry-West based in Bantry. He has a Bachelor’s of Science Honours Degree in Agricultural Science from MTU graduating in 2019. He has previously worked as an agricultural consultant across the south west region working with farmers with a wide variety of different farming systems for a number of years before joining the team. Kevin comes from a farming background of suckler beef and hill sheep farming on the Beara peninsula.

Jennifer Riney has worked as an Employment Facilitator with the South Kerry Development Partnership WorkAbility Programme since April 2024. She is a graduate of U.C.C. with a B.A. in Psychology & Sociology, H.Dip in Co-operatives, Marketing & Rural Development and in recent years has completed a Diploma in Youth & Community Work. She has worked in the community and voluntary sector for over 30 years in both paid and volunteer roles. She is deeply committed to social justice and advocates for strong, community-based supports and services that promote the wellbeing and dignity of all individuals.

Catherine Tierney is an Employment Facilitator with South Kerry Development Partnership’s WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment programme, based in Killarney. She holds a Masters’ degree in Social Work from UCC and has a background in social work practice. Since joining SKDP in 2024, Catherine supports people with disabilities to identify employment goals, build skills and access meaningful training and job opportunities. She also works with employers, training providers and community organisations to promote inclusive pathways to employment. Catherine enjoys being part of a team that values equity, diversity, and community.

Gemma Final is the Employment Facilitator for the WorkAbility Programme covering Killorglin and Cahersiveen. For over 20 years, Gemma has worked in the area of Disability, Mental health and Elderly Care and has gained substantial experience in setting up and running projects for not-for-profit organisations, aimed at reducing loneliness and isolation and helping the long-term unemployed back into employment and self-employment. Gemma has experience of training volunteers and staff including facilitating Safeguarding training, and is passionate about inclusion and equality, advocating for the rights and wishes of those she works with.

Iuliia Kholodko works as a Language Support Worker with SKDP, supporting migrants and refugees in Killarney. She delivers English classes for beginner and intermediate groups, helping participants develop both language skills and practical integration knowledge. Originally from Ukraine, Iuliia holds a Master’s degree in Pedagogy with a focus on linguistics and brings first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by those starting a new life abroad. She is passionate about building bridges between cultures, promoting inclusion, and encouraging personal growth, and finds it most rewarding to see people gain confidence and independence as they integrate into Irish society.

John McCrohan joined SKDP in 2013 as a part-time Rural Development Officer, supporting smallholders. A sheep smallholder himself, John is passionate about rural community resilience and holds a degree in Social Enterprise and Community Development from UCC. In 2017 he became a full-time RSS/Tús Supervisor based in Kenmare, with responsibility for Templenoe to Derrynane area.

Raisa Diakova is a SICAP English Language Support Officer with South Kerry Development Partnership (SKDP). She delivers English language classes for newcomers across South Kerry, reaching even the most remote communities. With a background in teaching, marketing, and psychology, Raisa combines professionalism with genuine care. Each year, she teaches over 100 learners through intensive beginner and follow-up courses. Passionate about supporting integration and personal growth, she creates a warm, motivating atmosphere that helps people gain confidence, build connections, and feel at home in Ireland. Her energy, empathy, and dedication inspire both learners and colleagues alike.

Adrian Griffin is a Rural Social Scheme Supervisor with South Kerry Development Partnership, where he supports and coordinates community-based work placements that benefit both local participants and the wider community. With a strong background in agriculture as a dedicated suckler farmer, Adrian brings a deep understanding of rural life and the challenges facing farming communities. He holds a Certificate in Community Development from University College Cork, reflecting his commitment to fostering sustainable development and social inclusion in rural areas.

Breda Keating is a Rural Social Scheme Supervisor with South Kerry Development Partnership, a role she has held since 2005. Coming from a strong farming background, Breda brings a deep understanding of rural life and community needs to her work. She holds a Certificate in Community Development from University College Cork (UCC) and is committed to supporting rural communities through inclusive, practical, and sustainable development initiatives.

David O`Neill is a Rural Social Scheme Supervisor with SKDP CLG since 2007. In his role, he works closely with participants, many of whom come from farming backgrounds, to coordinate meaningful community-based work placements and support their ongoing development. With a strong personal connection to agriculture as a part-time farmer, he particularly enjoys working with the local farming community. He has a keen interest in livestock, especially cattle, and is actively involved in the cattle weighing programme — a valuable initiative that promotes better herd management and data-driven farming practices. He is passionate about rural development, community engagement, and improving quality of life in rural areas through practical support and collaborative action.

Rosarie McGillycuddy is a Rural Social Scheme supervisor with South Kerry Development Partnership based in the Mid-Kerry Area. As one of the pioneering RSS supervisors to join SKDP in 2004, she has played a key role in shaping the Rural Social Scheme in South Kerry. Rosarie holds a degree in Community Development & Social Enterprise from UCC, as well as a Certificate in Community Workplace Management. In her Role as a Rural Social Scheme Supervisor, Rosarie works closely with local Farmers/Fishers and Community Groups to deliver meaningful projects that benefit our Rural Communities.

Paudie O’Shea is a TUS Supervisor based in the Mid Kerry area, bringing over 20 years of experience in the construction and civil engineering industry in Ireland and the UK. He holds a BSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis with Environmental Science from Munster Technological University (MTU). Paudie combines his technical background with a strong commitment to community development, supporting local employment initiatives and ensuring effective project delivery across the region.

Lisa Murphy has been working with South Kerry Development Partnership CLG since 2011, joining during the initial rollout of the Tús programme. With a background in Youth and Community Development, she supports both Tús participants and community groups in the Killarney area. Lisa is passionate about helping individuals secure meaningful work placements while strengthening local voluntary organisations. Her work reflects a strong commitment to equality, inclusion, and social justice.

John Cronin was born in the foothills of the McGillycuddy Reeks, where he continues to operate a small sheep farm that has been part of his life from an early age. John joined SKDP CLG in January 2023 as the Rural Social Scheme Supervisor for the Killarney area and is based in Killarney. John derives great job satisfaction from knowing that his work contributes to the improvement of local services and amenities. His commitment to rural life, combined with his hands-on experience in farming and community engagement, informs the thoughtful and dedicated approach he brings to the Rural Social Scheme.

Ger Moynihan is a Tús Supervisor based in Killarney with a background in Civil and Transportation Engineering, having studied at Napier University in Edinburgh. A Killarney native with a strong record of community involvement, Ger has been part of SKDP since 2013, combining his technical expertise and leadership skills to support local projects and community development initiatives.

Tracy Moriarty is a PA / Secretary to the SKDP Chief Executive Officer and also provides administrative support to the HR manager. Tracy graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design with an Honours Degree in Fine Art and has worked in Office Administration for over seven years. Tracy is based in Killorglin and her responsibilities in SKDP include assembling meeting agendas and supporting documentation and circulation of same and recording minutes of meetings, recruitment correspondence, organisation of LEADER Evaluation Committee meetings and maintenance of files and is the Administrator for the SKDP info email.

Carmel O Brien is an Accounts Assistant based in Cahersiveen, with a background in Business Studies and 25 years’ experience in the finance and administration sector. Since joining the team in January 2023, Carmel has brought a wealth of knowledge and a practical, detail-oriented approach to her role. She supports a wide range of accounting functions and enjoys engaging with officers across all programmes, contributing to smooth financial operations and strong internal collaboration within the company.

Julie Brosnan is Administrator to Kerry Social Farming project since 2017. She graduated from UCC with a Degree in Social Science (Youth & Community Work) and a Masters in Social Policy. Her work includes co-ordination of project activities, dissemination of information and compilation of funding applications and reports. She works with partners, including host farmers, social farming participants and agencies to help support the valuable social inclusion work of the project. Coming from a farming background informs her work and her belief in the value of vibrant rural communities.

Annette Robinson serves as a Data Input Administrator for SICAP and is based in Cahersiveen. She relocated from the United Kingdom to the south of Ireland in September 2021 and joined the SICAP team in SKDP in May 2023. Since commencing her role, Annette has valued the diverse and meaningful nature of the work, particularly the opportunity to contribute to programmes that support individuals and communities. Annette is committed to supporting the wider team and contributing to the organisation’s objectives in a professional and reliable manner.

Joan commenced employment with South Kerry Development Partnership in 2020 and now works as Network Administrator with South Kerry Skillnet playing a key role in managing and maintaining the networks training infrastructure. Bringing over 30 years’ experience in the banking sector as a Qualified Financial Advisor, Joan has a deep understanding of the many challenges facing businesses today. She supports South Kerry Skillnets’ mission to deliver meaningful & high-quality training opportunities to individuals and business throughout the region.

Mary B. Horgan provides key administrative support to the Rural Recreation Officer, helping to ensure the smooth running of the Walks Scheme. Her role includes a variety of clerical and organisational tasks such as managing documents, keeping records, handling communications, and liaising with landowners, contractors, and stakeholders. Mary’s strong administrative skills support efficient office operations, accurate record-keeping, and timely coordination of activities, all of which contribute to the effective delivery of the scheme.

Kathy Sheahan is the Employment Support Administrator for Kerry Local Area Employment Service in South Kerry. As an Employment Support Administrator with KLAES she works as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide assistance to individuals who are referred to the service by the Department of Social Protection. Kathy has several years of experience in a participant-facing confidential service which involves managing sensitive information, adhering to privacy regulations and building trust with clients through discretion and ethical conduct. Her primary responsibility is seeking employment for KLAES clients while compiling and distributing a comprehensive weekly job sheet featuring current employment opportunities across a variety of local industries. This is advertised widely on social media and company websites.

Marie Flood is an Accounts Assistant based at head office in Cahersiveen. She has been with the organisation since November 2006 and during that time she was also PA to the CEO for over five years. She brings a solid administrative ethic to supporting the LAES Team Leader and employment services provided through the LAES. Marie holds a PLC in Computer & Business Studies, FETAC Level 5 and also a qualification in Computerised and Manual Accounts. Her role involves processing invoices/payments through on-line banking, maintaining and compiling the financial documentation in relation to the LAES accounts & submission of the monthly return to NEWKD.

Marianah Sahmad is the ACRES Kerry/West Cork Co-operation Project Administrator and is originally from Singapore, having moved to Ireland in 2010. Marianah joined the South Kerry Development Partnership in 2019, working on the MacGillycuddy Reeks European Innovation Partnership (EIP) Project.

Fiona O’Sullivan is the Social Media and Website Administrator at South Kerry Development Partnership CLG, having started in May 2026. Fiona holds a degree in Communication, majoring in Journalism and Public Relations, as well as a diploma in Digital Marketing.
Through her participation in the Rural Social Scheme, Fiona has been involved with South Kerry Development Partnership CLG for many years. She has long recognised that the organisation has a great story to tell about its local development work throughout the region and is delighted to now play a role in sharing that story.

Claire Thompson is a TÚS/RSS Supervisor with SKDP, where she supports participants, community organisations and local projects across the Kenmare area. She brings extensive experience in administration, team leadership, training and project coordination, together with a strong commitment to community development and lifelong learning.
Claire holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Social Science from UCC and a QQI Level 6 Business Administration.
Alongside her professional role, Claire has a strong interest in accessible education, social inclusion and community engagement. She is also passionate about biodiversity and conservation.

Dawna Connolly is an Agri-Environmental Officer for the ACRES Kerry/West Cork CP based in Bantry. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Science from the University of Glasgow, a Diploma in Environment, Sustainability and Climate from University College Cork and a post grad certificate in Agroforestry and Landscape Biodiversity from South East Technological University. She grew up on a dairy farm in Co. Cork. She previously worked as an animal welfare inspector in Scotland and in veterinary microbiology and parasitology. She has a particular interest in Bats.

Caitriona O’Sullivan is an Accounts Assistant for South Kerry Development Partnership with 28 years of experience working in finance and administration. Catriona is passionate about continuous learning and has almost completed a QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support qualification.
In addition to her Accounts Assistant role, Catriona works as a Social Centre Coordinator at her local social centre for older people. Catriona enjoys working with people and prides herself on being approachable, organised, and dependable.
Outside of work, Catriona loves making the most of everything Kerry has to offer and enjoys walking, swimming, and dancing in her free time.
