Farmers, fishers, and qualifying relatives in County Kerry are encouraged to consider the Rural Social Scheme (RSS) and the Tús Community Work Placement Initiative as valuable opportunities to supplement their income while continuing their involvement in farming or fishing activities.

These schemes offer part-time, flexible work within local communities, allowing participants to remain close to home while contributing their skills and experience to community, environmental, and social projects.

Participants retain their existing social welfare payment and receive an additional weekly allowance. Eligible individuals are invited to express their interest and learn how participation in RSS or Tús can support both their livelihood and the ongoing sustainability of rural and coastal communities throughout Kerry.
